Physicist Albert-László Barabási wrote, “Time is our most valuable nonrenewable resource, and if we want to treat it with respect, we need to set priorities.”

Bravo has nearly reached fifty employees, and our most recent growth spurt coupled with Covid-19 put pressure on our organization that we hadn’t yet experienced. In this blog, I will share a few of my most recent and favorite discoveries and why they have improved my life as CEO.

Docket

How to use Docket for Productivity

Docket is a meeting management tool that can benefit anybody who is having more than a few meetings per day. Multi-store operators with back offices, leadership teams, administrators, and accounting teams will thrive on this tool. My day is typically jam-packed with meetings with varying agendas and dozens of action items.

The problem is that at the end of my day, I can’t remember everything I said I would do and the tasks everybody else said they would do. Docket transformed my meetings to be more productive. It helps set a purpose for each meeting, keeps the meeting on time and on-topic, and sends an excellent recap to attendees at the end. There is more accountability across our organization and has made our meetings more productive.

Oura Ring

For me, work/life balance is all predicated on being in good health. I love gadgets that track key metrics and help me manage different areas of my health. A friend recommended the Oura Ring a few months ago, and I’m still using it daily.

I like the Oura because it calculates my readiness score, respiratory rate, temperature, and sleep. Oura is making me more productive by capturing my activity and movement throughout the day and sleep at night. I’ve made a few modifications to my daily routine, workout time, and recovery that impact my workday. I’ve seen a few of these pop up on Buya so, save some money and buy yourself one.

Genius Scan

Features of the Genius Scan App

Makes it fast and simple to turn pictures into PDFs. If you don’t have a scanner in arms-reach, I highly recommend this quick app download.

You can literally scan any paper documents and export them as multi-page PDF files. You can then send your documents directly through the app via email, text, or Airdrop. As an on-the-go CEO, this app has definitely made my life easier.

Gallon Water Bottle

Gallon Water Bottle from Amazon

When I read a study that said drinking water could increase productivity, I committed to drinking a gallon every day for an entire month. I bought this obnoxious water bottle and will never go back. Most people are dehydrated, and if you’re working in a busy store all day, you probably aren’t drinking enough water.

Dehydration causes a reduction in motivation, increases fatigue, and changes the way your body controls its temperature. If you’re looking for a quick and free way to boost your workday productivity, drink more water. If you’re looking for a tool that makes it easier to remember, buy this water bottle.

360-Degree Conference Camera

360 Smart Camera Used for Conference Calls

I am a big believer in town halls, company-wide meetings, quarterly business reviews, and weekly leadership meetings. Covid changed the format of meetings, but the biggest compliment I received in the last 12 months is that my team “feels more connected now than pre-Covid.”

With employees from California to Jamaica, collaboration can be challenging. Our entire executive couldn’t meet in person for this year’s Q2 and Q3 strategy meeting, and engaging in 8-hour Zoom calls is tough. This Coolpo camera changed our lives and made our meeting more engaging.

The device is plug-and-play making it simple to set up; no tech person needed! The microphone quality was better than our expensive conference-room phone, and the camera was better than our PC-cameras. The coolest part is how you can see everybody in the room in a single shot, with the ability to zoom the camera in on the person speaking.

It’s almost as good as being in person!

I highly recommend something like this if you have multiple locations where not every manager, employee, or owner can meet in the same room.
